I get asked this question a lot "should I swaddle my baby and how do I do it"?
Swaddling is an age-old practice of wrapping infants in blankets or similar cloths so that movement of the limbs is tightly restricted.Swaddling bands were often used to further restrict the infant. Swaddling fell out of favor in the seventeenth century.
You have the choice over swaddling your baby. Swaddling is an age old practice which is apparently becoming more popular in recent times.. There are widely differing views about its safety but parents have the right to chose whether they do or not. Provided you follow the guidelines your baby can feel very safe and secure while sleeping.
See the article I wrote for Fathers Quarterly Mag, after all, Dads can swaddle too!
