'Baby brain' doesn't exist say scientists

The term "baby brain" is often used by new mums when they forget things or seem a little out of sync - but is it actually a condition, or simply a combination of sleep deprivation and changing hormones? An article in the New Scientist says that there is very little evidence that baby brain exists and that women with young children may even function better than they did before. Toys for Christmas

Toys for Christmas
Did your baby get lots of lovely gifts this Christmas? It's a good idea to put away some of those new toys and bring them out a few at a time, so your baby doesn't get overwhelmed. You'll need to sort out toy storage now, to keep all the pieces of that jigsaw or shape sorter together. Keep hold of shoe boxes, biscuit tins and gift boxes, which all make useful storage boxes. Apart from the obvious with your newborn, baby or toddler, the following can be sleep stealers that you weren't aware of. Rich dinners: Meals that take a lot of time to digest, like those high in fat and protein, can keep your body up working, which makes it harder to fall asleep. Opt for a lighter dinner, especially if you tend to eat later in the even...

A Few Fun Baby Facts

A Few Fun Baby Facts
Your baby shares their birthday with at least 9 million other people in the world. Babies are born with very poor vision but can recognize their mothers almost straight away. Babies are always born with blue eyes but within a few moments of delivery, their eye color can change.  Babies can swim when they are born and can naturally hold their breath but shortly after birth they lose this ability. Reading to your child at any age will increase their knowledge. Children laugh on average 300 times a day, adults only 60...
